I’ve been part of the community since it started, and I use it every day. Working at Sydney Water, I need to influence every level of the organisation while staying across regulation changes and current scientific data. The community makes that so much easier. I can quickly pull together what I need: grab a code of practice, combine it with a meeting toolkit, and deliver something practical and trusted to the right people. It’s become my go-to resource — I feel like I’ve got it in my back pocket at all times.
Cassandra Gray
Health and Wellbeing Specialist, Sydney Water
Note. The Healthy Work Community of Practice is designed exclusively for internal organisational professionals (e.g., HR, Health & Safety, Organisational Development, People & Culture, Leadership). It is not open to consultants or individuals working for consultancies offering similar services to HeartBrain Works.

Find and share opportunities

Working in safety for a large mining contractor, I know there’s still a lot of work to be done, so finding a space where people openly share what’s working, what’s not, and what they’re learning really appealed to me. What stood out early on was how practical everything is — case studies and real examples grounded in lived experience, not just theory, with tools you can take straight back into your own work. But more than the resources, the community has given me a genuine sense of connection — conversations have already started, ideas are being shared, and that’s exactly the environment I was hoping for.
Jason Wai
Principal Health Safety and Wellbeing, Perenti Group
We’ve joined the community to hear what other organisations are doing, what’s working for them, and to take away any practical ideas we can shamelessly pinch!

We got on board because we have a genuine belief that psychosocial safety isn’t just about regulatory compliance — it’s about truly caring for our people. Managing people is getting more challenging than ever, and psychosocial risk sits at the top of our risk register. Ensuring our team is protected and well supported is non-negotiable. We can’t wait to contribute and grow with this community.
Rachael Cook
Chief Executive Officer, Inclusee
My hope for this community is that it becomes a catalyst for change: a safe space where we can share not only our successes but also our failures and learnings, without judgement. And ultimately, somewhere we can find practical guidance on translating regulation into meaningful, sustainable change.
Eva Murer
Staff Wellbeing, Sydney Road Community School
I joined as a founding member because connecting with others in similar roles is essential, especially when there are limited people within your own organisation with a deep understanding of these complexities. I’m here to share best practice, celebrate wins, and support each other through the roadblocks we’ll inevitably face — there’s always so much to gain from drawing on examples across different sectors and organisations.

Wellbeing Lead, Ministry of Justice

I’ve seen firsthand what happens when psychosocial risk is left unaddressed and how easily it can be prevented from escalating. A big part of my work is educating people that things like customer abuse and threats are not okay. This community has been brilliant for that — connecting with others facing the same challenges, sharing what works, and supporting each other. If something works, let’s share it — and that’s exactly what this space allows us to do.

What members say
I’m a business leader in the energy sector with 38 years of experience across oil and gas, steel, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, and energy. I’m passionate about wellbeing as a cornerstone of health and safety, and my work centres on developing a culture where people feel safe to have their say. What I hope for this community is that it becomes a place where we can share, learn, and adapt — and together take our approach to wellbeing to new heights.
Brent Rees
Country Manager Director, Hitachi Energy
I’m really pleased to be part of the community. As Head of People across a 130-strong national team, I’m currently building our training programmes and creating safe spaces for people to report. Being able to dive into the toolkit, use the community chat, and connect with others on the same journey has just been fantastic.
Ed Milne
GM People and Culture, Air Met Scientific
Psychosocial hazards are a big focus for us, especially as our company is growing quickly with more operational work than safety work done to date. HeartBrain Works has been a great resource — I can find what I need, put a company stamp on it, and share materials that truly resonate with our people. The new training is something our 45,000-strong workforce will be very grateful for and we’re very much looking forward to it.
Laura Maddock
WHS Advisor, Forico Pty Limited
I love the breadth of the tools available. The real-world case studies are so practical — you can actually apply them in everyday situations. The toolkits and regulation updates are invaluable too, as it’s difficult to keep track of everything on your own. It’s just such a great forum — the open dialogue, learning from each other, and being prompted to think about things you might not have considered before.
